James Gunn has revealed a new Man of Tomorrow prop that has fans buzzing about Guy Gardner’s return. The DC Studios co-CEO is currently filming the Superman sequel that will release next summer.
What Man of Tomorrow prop did James Gunn show off?
On Threads, James Gunn shared a new look at a Green Lantern/Guy Gardner-related prop. The prop appears to be a lighter featuring the Green Lantern Corps logo and the words “From Guy” at the top, but opening it reveals a cheeky surprise. Instead of fire, the lighter pops out a green middle finger. The surprise pop is a reference to Guy Gardner’s use of his Green Lantern powers during the climactic battle in Superman, where he flips off a tank by conjuring a giant green hand. “it’s easy being green,” Gunn wrote in the post’s caption.

Whether or not the prop is actually in the movie remains to be seen, but Gunn specifically shared it using the Man of Tomorrow hashtag. Nathan Fillion is reprising his role in the film, but not before he appears in a cameo role in this year’s HBO series Lanterns. In Superman, Gardner was a member of the Justice Gang, a corporate superhero team funded by Maxwell Lord, played by Sean Gunn. Fans have speculated that the Justice Gang might eventually become the Justice League, the team that includes Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and more DC heavy-hitters.
Gardner won’t be the only Green Lantern, as Aaron Pierre’s John Stewart will appear in it. The film will also bring back Milly Alcock’s Supergirl. Gunn has teased that Man of Tomorrow will see Superman team up with Lex Luthor to fight against Brainiac. Set photos from the film have also shown the Man of Steel fighting Luthor in his iconic warsuit.
