Bob Marley: One Love Sets Paramount+ Streaming Date

Bob Marley: One Love, a biographical drama about the legendary reggae singer, will soon arrive on Paramount+ in the U.S. and Canada on Friday, April 12. This comes after Kingsley Ben-Adir received praise for his performance when the film first graced theaters on February 14. 

Directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, the biopic chronicles the life and career of Bob Marley and how he became the renowned reggae musician, known for his hit tracks like “One Love,” “Punky Reggae Party,” “Midnight Ravers,” “War,” “Fussing and Fighting,” “Zimbabwe,” and more. 

“Bob Marley: One Love celebrates the life and music of an icon who inspired generations through his message of love and unity. On the big screen for the first time, discover Bob’s powerful story of overcoming adversity and the journey behind his revolutionary music,” the synopsis reads. 

The film has managed to earn $28.6 million during its opening weekend and has garnered over $170 million worldwide against a $70 million budget. Although loved by fans — with a current 92% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes — critics were less nice with the biopic, with a 43% critics score as of this writing.

Apart from Ben-Adir as the iconic reggae singer, the rest of the film’s cast includes Lashana Lynch as Rita Marley, James Norton as Chris Blackwell, Tosin Cole as Tyrone Downie, Anthony Welsh as Don Taylor, Aston Barrett Jr. as Aston “Family Man” Barrett, Sevana as Judy Mowatt, Michael Gandolfini as Howard Bloom, and Nadine Marshall as Cedella Malcolm, among others. 

The film is produced by Robert Teitel, Brad Pitt, Jeremy Kleiner, Dede Gardner, Ziggy Marley, Rita Marley, and Cedella Marley, with Richard Hewitt, Orly Marley, and Matt Solodky serving as executive producers.
