What to expect in The Man in the White Van?

“Inspired by a true story, the film delves into the eerie underbelly of a seemingly idyllic 1974 Florida town, and follows the harrowing experience of young Annie Williams, a spirited girl whose carefree existence is turned upside down as she becomes stalked by an ominous man in a white van,” reads the synopsis. “The tranquility of Annie’s world, from her love of horseback riding to her leisurely strolls home from school in the nearby woods, begins to crumble as the menacing white van inches closer and closer. As her parents’ skepticism increasingly grows, Annie finds herself psychologically isolated, and on Halloween night her worst fears materialize into a full-blown nightmare as she gets abducted.”

The Man in the White Van marks the feature directorial debut of Warren Skeels, who co-wrote the script with Sharon Y. Cobb. The suspense thriller is based on actual events involving the horrendous crimes committed by serial killer Billy Mansfield Jr. from Florida.

The film stars Sean Astin (Lord of the Rings trilogy) as Richard Williams, Ali Larter (Resident Evil films) as Helen Williams, Madison Wolfe (I Kill Giants) as Annie Williams, Brec Bassinger (Stargirl) as Margaret Williams, Skai Jackson (Jessie) as Patty, Gavin Warren (First Man) as Daniel, and Julianne Arrieta (Young and the Restless) as Miss Engram.

It is executive produced by Astin, Larter, Gary Kompothecras, Michael Nole, Paul Scanlan, Jeff Annison, and David Baxter. Producers are Terri Lubaroff and Anne Marie Gillen, with Billy Gaggins serving as the editor.
