AJ Michalka (The Goldbergs, Schooled, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power) has joined the cast of Showtime’s upcoming Ray Donovan follow-up movie, according to Deadline. Michalka is set to portray the younger version of Abby Donovan (previously played by Paula Malcomson) in the feature-length film.

Leading star Liev Schreiber returns in the titular role for the movie, which picks up where Season 7 left off after the network canceled the series early last year. The series ended with Mickey (Jon Voight) in the wind and Ray (Schreiber) determined to find and stop him before he can cause any more carnage. The movie will also weave together the present-day fallout from the Donovan and Sullivan feud with Ray and Mickey’s origin story from 30 years ago.

Returning cast members for the Ray Donovan film also include Pooch Hall, who plays Darryl Donovan, and Kerris Dorsey, who plays Ray’s daughter Bridget.

The project is executive produced by Hollander, Schreiber, Mark Gordon, Bryan Zuriff, and Lou Fusaro.
