Kate Beckinsale Teams with Monty Python Troupe for Absolutely Anything

Underworld franchise star Kate Beckinsale has joined the ensemble cast of director Terry Jones’ Absolutely Anything, Deadline reports. The film, first announced in 2010, features many of the surviving members of Monty Python, including John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Michael Palin and Jones himself. Unfortunately for Python fans, Eric Idle (the only other member of the troupe outside of the late Graham Chapman) is sitting this one out, but the production is also set to feature Simon Pegg, Robin Williams, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Eddie Izzard and Joanna Lumley.

Jones wrote the screenplay for Absolutely Anything alongside Gavin Scott (The Borrowers, Small Soldiers). The plot is said to follow a schoolteacher (Pegg), who is given the incredible power to make his every wish a reality by a group of aliens (voiced by the Pythons). Williams will voice Pegg’s character’s dog, Dennis, with Beckinsale playing the film’s romantic interest.

Cameras begin to lens on Absolute Anything in London on March 23 with Bill & Ben Productions’ Bill Jones and Ben Timlett producing and Chris Chesser and Mike Medavoy executive producing.
