It’s utterly ridiculous, insanely funny, and there’s a giant tortoise that explodes into disgusting, bloody goop within the first five minutes. Who wouldn’t want to watch that?

Mandy
Sometimes, when you’re stoned, the mood calls for a highly stupid slapstick comedy. Other times, you want to watch a trippy, weird horror movie that sees Nicolas Cage avenge his wife’s death by murdering a demonic biker gang from hell. Good thing Mandy exists, am I right? Nicolas Cage has arguably never been more Nicolas Cage than he is in this movie; which is to say, he’s not afraid to get REAL weird and fully commit to the absurdity of this story.

Everybody Wants Some!!
Odds are, you’ve probably seen Richard Linklater’s Dazed and Confused (and, if you haven’t, you should — it’s a hoot). What you may not have seen, however, is the spiritual sequel also directed by Linklater, Everybody Wants Some!! Released in 2016, the movie follows a group of baseball players navigating life in the 1980s. They drink, they smoke, they go to parties, and they get up to all kinds of crazy shenanigans. It’s every bit as infectiously entertaining as Dazed and Confused, all with an ending that goes somewhere profoundly earnest. It’s a no-brainer as one of the best films to watch on 420.

Ponyo
Ponyo? Studio Ghibli’s take on The Little Mermaid? That Ponyo? Yes, that Ponyo. It may not seem like an obvious stoner movie, but think about it. It’s got a whole bunch of extravagant colors and it is (quite literally) overflowing with animated sea life. It’s also a very comfy movie — like the type of thing you can put on that’ll make you forget about all the day’s stresses for a while. Ponyo is a delight. And adding a little THC to the situation while watching it is only going to make it better.
