Kim Soo-Hyun’s Queen of Tears Beats New Netflix K-Dramas The 8 Show & The Atypical Family

Netflix’s Queen of Tears, starring Kim Soo-Hyun and Kim Ji-Won, concluded last month. Since then, a few more K-dramas have premiered on the streaming platform. However, the popularity of the romance drama continues to lead the Netflix Global Top 10 chart.

As per the Netflix Global Top 10 chart, The 8 Show, released on May 17, 2024, recorded 1.7 million views and 11.9 million hours watched. Currently, it is in the 7th position on the list. These numbers are quite disappointing, given the fact that this kind of show generally garners more views. But still, it is too early to predict whether the show will do well in the future or not.

Queen of Tears leads the chart beating The 8 Show, The Atypical Family & more

According to the Netflix Global Top 10 chart, Queen of Tears is still in 6th place, beating The 8 Show, The Atypical Family, and other shows. The Atypical Family garnered 1.5 million views and 9.8 million hours watched, and it is in the 8th position. The storyline of the drama revolves around a family that possesses superpowers of all kinds. But with modern-day health problems, they are losing their power. However, their lives take a sharp turn after meeting a mysterious woman, Do Da-Hae (Chun Woo-Hee).

But none of these dramas could beat the massive popularity of Queen of Tears. Kim Soo-Hyun and Kim Ji-Won’s onscreen chemistry is still very much in discussion. The storyline of the drama follows a married couple’s life together – Baek Hyun-Woo and Hong Hae-In. While Hyun-Woo (Kim Soo-Hyun) is the husband and the legal lawyer of the Queens’ company, Hae-In is his wife and the chaebol heiress of the company. When they hit a rough spot in their marriage, how they deal with it amid more chaos makes up the rest of the plot.

tvN’s hit drama Queen of Tears is available for streaming on Netflix.
