New Queen of Tears Behind-the-Scenes Video: Kim Soo-Hyun’s Drunk Dialogue Is a Tribute To Fight for My Way

Queen of Tears has been airing since March 9, 2024, and is already leading the charts. The scenes from the series are going viral all over the media, and fans can’t stop gushing about the cute chemistry between Kim Soo-Hyun and Kim Ji-Won.

Kim Soo-Hyun’s drunk scene from tvN’s new K-drama is creating quite a buzz all around after he admits in the behind-the-scene sequence that it was a tribute to Kim Ji-Won’s performance in Fight for My Way.

In the scene, a drunk Baek Hyun-Woo (Soo-Hyun) cries his heart out while venting his anger to Kim Yang-Gi (Moon Tae-Yu). The scene should empathize with the feelings of the married men, and Soo-Hyun does it very beautifully.

Queen of Tears: Watch Kim Soo-Hyun’s drunk scene

The director of Queen of Tears, Kim Hee-Won, wanted to see the pathos in Baek Hyun-Woo’s eyes. Kim Soo-Hyun expresses his bitter sadness, saying, “Not a single person in the world is on my side. Not even a single leaf is on my side.” He further drinks and adds, “I can’t do that because I’m really cute when I’m drunk.”

In the scene, Kim Soo-Hyun added the adlib and said, “The youngest son of Yongduri Pear Tree House is cute because he is a natural. It’s just a basic option. It’s just revealed like this, so what should I do?”

After the scene, when the production team of Queen of Tears asked Kim Soo-Hyun about the gesture he made and whether it was his choice, the actor responded, “It’s just an homage to Kim Ji-won.”

If you remember, Kim Ji-Won’s character Choi Aera in Fight for My Way said something similar. In one of the scenes, Choi Aera says to Go Dong-Man (Park Seo-Joon), “I would be unlucky if I pretended to be pretty. But I’m also in real trouble.” She adds,  “I’m not pretending to be pretty, I was just born pretty.”

Kim Soo-Hyun’s tribute to his current co-star Kim Ji-Won in Queen of Tears leaves everyone in fits of laughter. The production team finds it cute, too, as mentioned in Osen.

Queen of Tears will air every Saturday and Sunday on tvN and Netflix at 9:10 pm KST.
