JTBC released the official trailer for the much-awaited K-drama Welcome to Samdalri. Starring Ji Chang-Wook and Shin Hye-Sun, the series follows the story of best friends, Jo Yong-Phil and Jo Sam-Dal, who later turned into ex-lovers. After a brief break, Sam-Dal returns to her hometown and reunites with Yong-Phil. With unresolved feelings, the duo connect over their tumultous past, bringing them closer to each other.

Welcome to Samdalri is all set to air on December 2, 2023, at 10:30 p.m. KST on JTBC and Netflix. The newly released trailer gives viewers a glimpse into Jo Yong-Phil and Jo Sam-Dal’s personal and professional lives. From their time as best friends, as lovers, their breakup, and their reunion at Samdalri, fans witness moments of romance between escalating tensions and emotional breakdowns.

The trailer begins with a tense interaction between Jo Yong-Phil and Jo Sam-Dal. It proceeds to show their professional lives. Yong-Phil is a weather forecaster and is a hardworking person at his job. He aims to protect the people of his hometown after his mother passed away due to a wrong forecast. However, his passion poses an inconvenience to fellow employees. They ask him to move to Seoul, but he refuses to leave Samdalri.

Meanwhile, Jo Sam-Dal has a thriving successful career as a fashion photographer. She is passionate about her work and is also applauded by her friends and colleagues. However, it all comes crashing down ahead of an exhibition as unfortunate events lead to her emotional breakdown. She eventually returns to her hometown. Sam-Dal has two other sisters, who also have faced some or the other obstacle in their lives.

Sam-Dal’s professional life takes a major hit and she tries to kill herself. However, Yong-Phil arrives just in time to save her. Sam-Dal wants to keep her arrival in Samdalri a secret, requesting Yong-Phil to not tell anyone. However, the whole hometown comes to know of it. The trailer proceeds to explain their relationship, stating how they’d been together since the moment they were born.

The arrival of Sam-Dal’s fellow colleague (Kang Young-Seok) causes chaos. He confesses to liking her, but it is clear that Sam-Dal still has feelings for Yong-Phil. The latter also helps her get back on her feet and find herself in the midst of chaos. Although the duo had a bitter breakup, they reunite only to find each other and fall in love all over again.
