Descendants of the Sun is one of the most-watched Korean dramas of all time. It tells the love story of Special Forces Captain Yoo Shi-Jin and Doctor Kang Mo-Yeon. After their first encounter, the two try to go on a date but Yoo Shi-Jin’s duty calls make it impossible. When they stop trying to be together, fate brings Dr. Mo-Yeon to the fictional war-torn country Uruk where Shi-Jin is stationed.

Aside from the lead pair, the rom-com series also featured a second pair. The cast includes Song Joong-Ki as Yoo Shi-Jin, Song Hye-Kyo as Kang Mo-Yeon, Jin Goo as Seo Dae-Young, Kim Ji-Won as Yoon Myeong-Joo, and Kang Shin-Il as Lieutenant General Yoon.

Uncontrollably Fond

Uncontrollably Fond is an emotional romance drama, starring Kim Woo-Bin and Bae Suzy. It is a story of childhood sweethearts who part ways due to uncontrollable and unfortunate circumstances. Years later, fate brings back Woo-Bin as Shin Joon-Yeong and Suzy as Noh Eul together. However, the two once again become the victim of an ill-fated relationship.

Aside from Woo-Bin and Bae Suzy, the 20-episode Korean drama stars Lim Ju-Hwan, Lim Ju-Eun, Jin Kyung, Choi Moo-Sung, Park Soo-Young, and Jung Soo-Kyo.

Twenty-Five Twenty-One

Twenty-Five Twenty-One is another highly appreciated Korean drama on Hulu. Starring Kim Tae-Ri as Na Hee-Do and Nam Joo-Hyuk as Back Yi-Jin, the tear-jerking romance drama revolves around an ambitious fencer and a self-made man. Hee-Do is determined to become Korea’s top fencer despite her mother’s opposition and Yi-Jin finds his passion when Hee-Do enters his life.

The storyline and lead cast are relatable and thus the K-drama became a hit. The other cast includes Bona Choi, Hyun-Wook, Lee Joo-Myoung, Seo Jae-Hee, and Kim So-Hyun.

What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim

The storyline of What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim is the perfect example of Hallyu (Korean Wave) that has spread worldwide. Starring Park Seo-Joon as Lee Young-Joon and Park Min-Young as Kim Mi-So, the K-drama is an entertaining office romance series meant for all rom-com lovers.

Young-Joon is an arrogant and self-obsessed yet successful businessman. When he finds out his secretary Kim Mi-So has resigned, he tries to stop her in every way possible. They soon realize that a traumatic past incident binds them together.

Aside from the lead actors, the other cast members of the rom-com series include Lee Tae-Hwan, Kim Byung-Ok, Kim Hye-Ok, Kang Ki-Young, Chansung, and Pyo Ye-Jin among others.

Big Mouth

Big Mouth was Lee Jong-Suk’s comeback to the K-drama world post-enlistment. He essays the role of Park Chang-Ho, an incompetent and savvy lawyer who is nicknamed “Big Mouth” because he talks big but can’t take action. After getting involved in a corrupt case, he is framed as con artist Big Mouse and sent to prison.

A sudden change in Chang-Ho’s personality can be seen inside the prison as he and his wife, Go Mi-Ho played by Im Yoon-ah, struggle to prove his innocence. The once-incompetent lawyer with anti-hero qualities fights against the corrupted system. Big Mouth is an emotional rollercoaster with a great script and talented actors.
