Park Seo-joon’s The Marvels cast, release date and more

Park Seo-joon plays the role of Prince Yan in The Marvels starring Brie Larson (Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers). His recently released solo poster showed him in a royal look.

Earlier, the movie’s trailer featured him in two shots. In one of them, he was seen getting pumped up before going to war. Another shot showed him dancing with Brie Larson’s character. According to MCU comics, Seo-joon’s Prince Yan is the Prince Charming from the planet Aladna.

For the first time ever, Marvel Studios will introduce this character in a movie. In the comics, the actor’s character is apparently engaged to a musician and mutant Lila Cheney. Although both parties do not want to marry each other, the royal family is in a rush to get their prince to tie the knot. Furthermore, Seo-joon’s character seeks Captain Marvel’s help to stop the wedding, but things turn sour when alien Malo plans to marry Lila and rule Alanda.

The official synopsis of The Marvels reads, “Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan, Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team-up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as ‘The Marvels.’”

Along with K-drama actor Park Seo-joon, The Marvels will also star Brie Larson as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, Jude Law as Yon-Rogg, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Mohan Kapur as Yusuf Khan, and Zenobia Shroff as Muneeba Khan, among others.

Directed by Nia DaCosta, the film is set to release on November 10, 2023.
