After the success of Mean Girls (2024), Avantika Vandanapu joined the cast of Amazon Prime Video’s latest series, Big Girls Don’t Cry.
Created by Nitya Mehra, the coming-of-age drama celebrates sisterhood and girl power. Set in Vandana Valley Girls School, the series revolves around the school’s archaic traditions and highlights the support between the students through their endearing friendships. It also stars Aneet Padda, Dalai, Vidushi, Lhakyila, Afrah Sayed, and Akshita Sood. Pooja Bhatt, Raima Sen, Zoya Hussain, and Mukul Chadda in pivotal roles.
Big Girls Don’t Cry is co-directed by Nitya Mehra, Sudhanshu Saria, Karan Kapadia, and Kopal Naithani. Each director has added a personal touch to the story from their own real-life experiences at boarding schools. It was available for streaming from March 14, 2024, on Amazon Prime Video.

Big Girls Don’t Cry ending: What did Vidushi do?
Towards the end of Big Girls Don’t Cry, Vidushi returns to the school after being suspended. The first thing she did upon her return was talk to Ludo. She knew that what she and Ludo did was not wrong and tried to convince Ludo of the same.
For being found with Ludo again, Vandana Valley Girls School punished Vidushi again by putting her in the isolation ward. However, this time, Manjoree decided to stand up for her friend. She sought Noor’s help, who refrained from helping her.
Eventually, all the students at VVGS came together to show their support for Vidushi. This made Noor question herself and her decisions. During a student council meeting about Vidushi, Noor’s mind could only think of what her father and sister had said.
So, she reminded the school of the reason why the statue of Aunt Vidhi was placed at their school. She then walked out after condemning the school for not accepting other identities and forcing the students to follow their rules.
Do Dia and Aliya reconcile?
On the other hand, Dia started regretting being responsible for Aliya’s firing. She went looking for Aliya to apologize to her but found her at a railway station. Aliya told her that while her opinion wasn’t wrong, her timing was.
She also reminded Dia how privileged she was to study at VVGS. The two apologized to each other. Later, Kavya wrote a letter to her mother, admitting that she had lost herself but promising to work on it.
At the end of the semester, she also learned that she wasn’t going anywhere as her mother had paid for the next semester. The two reconciled.
Does Anita’s dream come true?
Anita Verma had been dreaming of building a science block for the school in memory of her daughter, who passed away due to some sickness. She finally received a cheque from Mittal Industries. While her dream finally came true, Mr Mittal of Mittal Industries was not as kind or pleasant as he portrayed himself to be. He had started looking to replace Anita with a new principal.
