After the roaring success of Gadar 2, Sunny Deol is gearing up for his highly anticipated movie, Lahore 1947. As per recent reports, Preity Zinta will be making her comeback with the film.
Rajkumar Santoshi will be directing the movie alongside Aamir Khan Productions as the co-producer. The period drama will see Sunny Deol, Rajkumar Santoshi, and Aamir Khan team up for a visual spectacle. As of now, the plot and confirmed cast are yet to be revealed.
Preity Zinta to make a comeback with Sunny Deol’s Lahore 1947
According to reports, Preity Zinta was seen leaving a studio in Mumbai where she went for a look test. As per sources, the look test was for Lahore 1947, and the actress is reportedly making her comeback with this movie.
Aside from that, Santoshi shared his plan for the film in a Pinkvilla exclusive. He said, “If everything goes as planned, we will take the film on floors from March 1 in Mumbai. We will be creating Lahore City in a studio. The set is a part of the story and a large chunk of film will be shot on this set. It’s a very ambitious film. This is my dream. I have been planning to make it for the last 10 years and the things have finally fallen into place.” He added, “I plan to wrap up Lahore: 1947 by May and then proceed to it’s post production.”
The two actors have previously worked together in Hero: Love Story of a Spy (2003), Farz (2001), Bhaiaji Superhit (2018), among others. Lahore 1947 will also mark a reunion between Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Santoshi after Andaz Apna Apna (1994). Rajkumar Santoshi and Sunny Deol have previously worked together in Ghayal (1990), Damini (1993), and Ghatak (1996).
Recently, Sunny Deol talked about this collaboration in Koffee With Karan Season 8. He said, “When Aamir Khan came to the success party of Gadar 2, he came to me and said that he wanted to meet me. I surprisingly asked myself what it was all about, and the next day we met, we discussed some ideas and possibilities for cooperation, and after the conclusion, we came to this project, and that’s how it happened.”
