Eibon Press co-founder Stephen Romano talks ZOMBIE comic.
We reported here about Stephen Romano and Shawn Lewis’ incredible new horror comics imprint Eibon Press and their dedication to adapting the iconic work of beloved Italian genre film God Lucio Fulci.
Today, following the pre-sale of their first issue, LUCIO FULCI’S ZOMBIE #1, Romano supplied SHOCK with an exclusive quote.
“Last night pre-sales went live for LUCIO FULCI’S ZOMBIE #1 and the response was overwhelming. The first 250 signed copies sold out in less than one hour. We are amazed at the groundswell of support for our humble indie label and will continue to make quality horror collectibles like this, so long as the fans keep coming out for them. The spirit of Fulci truly lives and we see a bright future indeed. As far as the first issue goes, we still have many copies of the unsigned version available, and that’s still pretty awesome because they’re also sealed in our special Eibon Sleeve and everything. Plus they’re a bit cheaper. The only difference is that they’re not signed. But we look forward to meeting our fans at Texas Frightmare next year, so bring your copies and we’ll sign them there! The success of ZOMBIE #1 ensures the arrival of ZOMBIE #2 in October, by the way. If the fans had not come out for this, it would not have happened. So we thank them from the bottom of our cold black hearts.”
You can tell Romano is thrilled and so he should be. This is a labor of love for all involved.
LUCIO FULCI’S ZOMBIE #1 ships in July.
