Emily Rose Helmer Directs for Insidious Producer

Horror film to shoot this summer

Scott Derrickson, the director of The Exorcism of Emily Rose, is aligning himself with one of the hottest producers in horror right now.

Jason Blum – part of the team behind Paranormal Activity, Insidious and the upcoming films Lords of Salem and The Bay – told the L.A. Times that he’s working with Derrickson on a new film that is “a horror story with a crime at the center.” That’s all he’s willing to say for now.

Insidious is currently the most profitable film of 2011, so Blum and his partners are enjoying their success and trying to maintain a similar budget model on their upcoming efforts. Low cost. Great execution. High profit.

Derrickson also direct Hellraiser: Inferno and The Day the Earth Stood Still. More on his project as it comes!
