Has Pro Bono Season 2 Been Canceled or Renewed?

Popular K-drama Pro Bono has recently concluded its debut season, leaving fans to wonder if Season 2 is in the works. Here’s everything we know so far about whether the show has been renewed.

Has K-drama Pro Bono been canceled or renewed for Season 2?

As of now, Pro Bono has neither been renewed nor canceled. The showrunners have yet to announce whether the legal drama will return for another season.

Pro Bono concluded its first season on Sunday, January 11, 2026, running for 12 episodes in total. Although it premiered with a lukewarm 4.4% nationwide audience share, the numbers steadily increased throughout the season (via The Review Geek).

This positive rise could push the showrunners to greenlight the show for a second season. However, since most K-dramas are self-contained within one season, Pro Bono may follow the same format as well. Moreover, the first season of the show featured a satisfying ending, neatly tying up all loose ends.

The season finale saw the team bracing for a difficult case. The attorneys decide to play their winning card by exposing Dr. Oh and Justice Jang’s devious plan with a recording that captures them plotting together. Later, Da-wit calls for a joint cross-examination after a new judge presides over the case and his evidence begins to lose credibility.

The episode ends with all the conspiracies coming to light, along with Dr. Oh’s nefarious schemes, as well as Jung-in’s plot with Lawyer Woo. Although Da-wit ends up getting a promotion, he decides to leave the position after getting into a conflict with the higher-ups. In the end, he begins his own pro bono practice with the final scene showing the team helping an elderly couple who recently lost a case.

The cliffhanger-free ending does not set the stage for a new season. However, the creators could devise a new plot based on Da-wit’s fresh start in his legal career. For now, there is no official confirmation about the show’s return. All the episodes of Season 1 are now available on Netflix.
