The Smashing Machine Movie Post-Credits: Is There a Scene at the End?

Viewers are curious to know whether The Smashing Machine includes a post-, mid-, or end-credit scene. Benny Safdie directs the film, adapting it from the 2002 documentary The Smashing Machine: The Life and Times of Extreme Fighter Mark Kerr. The story follows Mark Kerr, a former amateur wrestler and MMA fighter, as he rises to fame while grappling with personal challenges.

Since the movie’s recent release, audiences have grown curious about whether they should stay back for a bonus scene.

Does The Smashing Machine have a post, mid or end-credits scene?

No, The Smashing Machine does not have a post-, mid-, or end-credits scene. Fans are free to leave the theaters once the credits begin to roll.

Generally, filmmakers include additional scenes for two main reasons: to resolve plot points or to tease a sequel. Many franchises, like Marvel, also use credit scenes to hint at a character’s return. In the case of The Smashing Machine, the story seems self-contained and doesn’t leave behind unresolved questions. It also doesn’t tease any potential sequel, making it unlikely for one to happen.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Dwayne Johnson, also known as The Rock, who plays Mark Kerr, revealed that he had previously held back from taking such challenging roles due to fear of failure. He said, “It was very real. I had not experienced that in a very, very, very long time, where I was really scared and thinking, I don’t know if I can do this. Can I do this? I realized that maybe these opportunities weren’t coming my way because I was too scared to explore this stuff.”

In another interview with CBS News, he shared that he had been wanting to take on roles that felt real and immersive. “For years, I’ve been dreaming and hoping. My desire was to play not only a dramatic role, but something that I felt like I could really sink my teeth into, and rip myself open. You hear that term. I just didn’t want to do drama. I wanted to do something that really allowed me to do that.”

Apart from Johnson, the main cast members are Emily Blunt, Ryan Bader, Oleksandr Usyk, Bas Rutten, and others.
