Despite many expecting Taylor Swift to make a grand appearance at the recently concluded 2025 American Music Awards (AMAs), the singer chose not to attend the event, turning many heads. Prior to the award ceremony, fans had speculated that the 14-time Grammy winner would be announcing the much-awaited premiere of Reputation (Taylor’s Version), as she has previously used major awards shows to announce some of her studio albums.

Fans search ‘Taylor Swift Not at AMAs 2025’ amid new album hype
Conducted at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas on May 26, the 2025 American Music Awards featured several who’s who of the music industry, including Jennifer Lopez, Blake Shelton, Benson Boone, and Gwen Stefani, among others. However, one notable absentee from the event was Taylor Swift.
She chose not to attend the 2025 AMAs despite bagging a whopping six nominations for her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department. While the “Bad Blood” singer received nods in the Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Favorite Touring Artist, Collaboration of the Year, Favorite Female Pop Artist, as well as the Favorite Pop Album categories, she failed to add another title to her record 40 AMA wins.
Swift’s absence also ended up disappointing her fans, who were actively expecting her to announce her upcoming Reputation (TV) album at the event. Amid other easter eggs supposedly dropped by the pop icon regarding the reprised version of her 2017 album, Swift has had a history of confirming her new projects at award ceremonies. She announced her Midnights album during her appearance at the MTV VMAs back in 2022, before doing the same for her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, at the 2024 Grammy Awards.
At the time of writing, the 35-year-old artist has yet to issue any official statement regarding the much-discussed release of Reputation (Taylor’s Version).
