Prey 2 Trailer & Poster: Is It Real or Fake? Is There a Release Date?

Fans who have spotted the many Prey 2 trailers and posters popping up on the internet are no doubt wondering “Are they real or fake?”. Here’s what you need to know about the current state of Prey 2 and if there’s an official trailer or, at the very least, an expected release date.

Is the Prey 2 trailer real?

No, the Prey 2 trailer is not real.

Unfortunately, for fans hoping that the Prey 2 trailers appearing on YouTube are real, they are all fake. At the time of writing, there is no official Prey 2 footage available, meaning that the fake trailers on YouTube all user clips from older movies, but edited to look like a brand new film.

The most popular fake trailer is by KH Studio. At the time of writing, it has amassed over 460,000 views. You can find it embedded below:

Is the Prey 2 poster real?

No, the Prey 2 posters are not real.

Though they can look very convincing, largely due to talented artists using Photoshop and other image-editing tools, as well as A.I. image generation, the posters being shared around social media are all fake.

At the time of writing, no official posters have been distributed by Hulu. It would be unusual for Hulu to share posters before actually announcing the new movie, though I suppose leaks do happen. For now, the Prey 2 posters floating around online are all fake.

Is there a Prey 2 trailer release date?

No, there is no Prey 2 trailer release date. At the time of publishing, there is no official word on when we can expect a trailer to drop.

For what it’s worth, the original Prey trailer was released only a month before the movie itself. Therefore, it’s possible that Prey 2 will also get a late trailer.

As for the movie itself, while it isn’t officially confirmed to be in the works, director Dan Trachtenberg did offer this snippet of info during an interview with The Playlist:

“I can’t really say anything about that right now, but I’ll say while we were finishing the movie, we were having really exciting conversations.”

For more entertainment content, here are the early 2024 movies to look forward to, including The Beekeeper, Origin, Argylle, and Lisa Frankenstein. Also, here’s ComingSoon’s review of Night Swim, “a mediocre horror movie experience.”
