ComingSoon is debuting an exclusive The Devil in the Flesh trailer. The drama adapts a classic novel with a clever spin, set within the turmoil of World War II.
The Devil in the Flesh is based on the iconic 1923 Raymond Radiguet novel Le Diable au corps, but told through the woman’s perspective. “Set within the turmoil of World War II, the film preserves the psychological intensity while reframing its themes for a contemporary audience,” reads the synopsis for the movie.
The movie is set to release on July 28, 2026, the same day World War I (which the original novel is based around) began in 1914. It will be available to rent or purchase on all major digital platforms across the US, Canada, UK, and Ireland.

What happens in The Devil in the Flesh trailer?
The trailer follows the story of a soldier going off to war during World War II, leaving behind his pregnant wife. The movie then begins narrating from the wife’s perspective writing the husband a letter, as we see what looks to be an affair she undertakes with a man back home.
The Devil in the Flesh is written and directed by Oscar Wenman-Hyde, and stars Alina Tamara, Nicola Wright, Andrew Rolfe, Steevan Glover, Elizabeth Grace, Charlie Bentley, LaToya Harding, Holden M.N. Smith, Matilda Mascall, Henry Fisk, and more.
The original 1923 novel the film is based on tells the story of a young married woman who has an affair with a boy during World War I, while her husband is away fighting at the frontlines. The movie was discovered to have been largely autobiographical after its release. The film has been adapted several times for film, with the most recent being in 1998, in a modern re-telling starring Rose McGowan and Alex McArthur.
