While technically, the hand that unknowingly administered the lethal dose of poison was the one of the maid (Camille Cottin), the real responsible for Alicia’s death was her mother, Rowena Drake (Kelly Reilly). Rowena couldn’t handle that her daughter wanted to leave her to marry Maxime (Kyle Allen) and opted to micro-dose her with hallucinogenic honey, until making the young woman crazy.
Who kills the medium Joyce Reynolds in A Haunting in Venice?
The medium Joyce Reynolds is killed by Rowena.
After her daughter’s death, Rowena started to be blackmailed by someone who discovered the truth about what really happened to Alicia. Rowena suspected the medium (Michelle Yeoh) was behind the letters she received as she believed Joyce’s medium powers were true. Rowena then killed the medium after the séance. In fact, Joyce was working with Ariadne Oliver (Tina Fey) and their accomplice, Vitale Portfoglio, to con Poirot (Kenneth Branagh).
How does Dr. Leslie Ferrier die in A Haunting in Venice?
Dr. Leslie Ferrier dies after stabbing himself in A Haunting in Venice.
Rowena was also suspicious of her family’s doctor, Leslie Ferrier (Jamie Dornan). Driven by madness and fear, Rowena forced Leslie to kill himself after having threatened she would have murdered his son, Leopold. In a desperate attempt to save his son’s life, Leslie stabbed himself inside a locked room so the culprit would look like the evil spirits inhabiting the palazzo.
