The third run of Sweet Magnolias is heading to Netflix as part of the July 17-23 schedule.
On Thursday, July 20, the popular streamer will release Sweet Magnolias season 3. Based on the book series of the same name by Sherryl Woods, the show follows the lives of three best friends, Maddie Townsend (JoAnna Garcia Swisher), Dana Sue Sullivan (Brooke Elliott), and Helen Decatur (Heather Headley), who support each other through thick and thin. Season 3 is composed of 10 episodes that will debut all at once, as is customary for Netflix. The cast includes Logan Allen, Anneliese Judge, Carson Rowland, Justin Bruening, Chris Klein, Jamie Lynn Spears, Dion Johnstone, and Brandon Quinn. The upcoming season 3 will also star Fresh Prince of Belair alum Janet Hubert as Bev Decatur, Helen’s (Heather Headley) mother.
On Friday, July 21, Netflix will also drop They Cloned Tyrone, a sci-fi comedy starring Jamie Foxx, John Boyega, and Teyonah Parris. Foxx is best known for his portrayal of musician Ray Charles in 2004’s Roy, a performance rewarded with an Academy Award for Best Actor. The upcoming movie will feature the directorial debut of Creed 2 writer Juel Taylor. The film also stars Kiefer Sutherland, J. Alphonse Nicholson, David Alan Grier, Tamberla Perry, and Eric Robinson Jr., among others.
“A series of eerie events thrusts an unlikely trio onto the trail of a nefarious government experiment in this pulpy mystery caper,” reads the film’s brief synopsis.
