It appears fans will get Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 3 sooner than expected on Disney+. The adventure TV show is co-created by Rick Riordan and Jonathan E. Steinberg, based on Riordan’s extremely popular book series of the same name.
When is the Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 3 release date?
Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 3 will release on November 20, 2026, on Disney+, according to Entertainment Weekly. This means fans will receive the next chapter of the hit TV show in a shorter turnaround than Season 2. It arrived last December, two years after Season 1’s premiere in December 2023.
In the same report, the outlet also revealed that Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 3 will be the darkest yet in the entire TV series, according to Walker Scobell, who plays the titular role in the Disney+ show. “When you’re reading the books, the first [The Lightning Thief] gets you into it, and then The Titan’s Curse is when it really hooks into the meat of the story.”
Scobell also revealed that the third season will get some inspiration from the books and feature a small time jump to focus on how Percy Jackson is dealing with the return of Zeus’ daughter Thalia Grace, played by Tamara Smart. She was revived using the Golden Fleece in Season 2.
“It’s difficult because I think Percy and Thalia are so similar they fill the same spot in a team in a way,” said the actor.
Speaking more of Season 3, it officially wrapped filming in March 2026, according to the show’s writer and executive producer Albert Kim.
The third season was originally announced by Rick Riordan on his website in March 2025; the production began last August. Back in December 2025, during an interview with The Direct, Scobell had teased the upcoming third chapter by saying it was “the most book-accurate season [they’ve] had yet.”
Besides Scobell and Smart, Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 3 will also feature Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth, Aryan Simhadri as Grover, Charlie Bushnell as Luke Castellan, and Dior Goodjohn as Clarisse La Rue, among others.
