Megyn Kelly Praises Shakira for ‘Not Showing Us Her Vagina’ at World Cup

Shakira recently received an unusual compliment from Megyn Kelly for her 2026 FIFA World Cup final halftime show performance. The Colombian singer-songwriter performed “Dai Dai” with Burna Boy and the Ghetto Kids. Madonna, BTS, Justin Bieber, and Coldplay also performed at the event.

Megyn Kelly slams Madonna, BTS and Justin Bieber, praises Shakira

Kelly praised Shakira for her halftime show outing at the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, claiming that the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer “saved the day” after “terrible” performances by some of the other artists, including Madonna, BTS, and Bieber. “She [Shakira] was great,” Kelly shared. “It was the right vibe and the right song. She looked amazing. I cannot believe she is 49 years old. She was moving around like she was 29 years old.”

Notably, Kelly claimed that Madonna and BTS were lip-syncing to their respective tracks. The former performed her 2000 track “Music,” with Brazilian soccer icons Ronaldo Nazario and Ronaldinho accompanying her to the podium. Meanwhile, BTS sang their 2020 hit “Dynamite,” and Bieber performed his 2025 song “Everything Hallelujah.” As for Coldplay, they performed “We Dance,” an original song written for the World Cup, featuring The Muppets and others.

Reflecting further on Shakira’s performance, Kelly noted, “Congrats to her on not showing us her vag (vagina) this time like she did at the Super Bowl with Jennifer Lopez a couple of years ago…She looked a bit saucy, but not too much for her age or for the setting. And she sang a great song. I think that was also a track, but I forgave it because the dancing was good and she sold it.”

Here, Kelly was referring to the Super Bowl LIV halftime show, which Shakira co-headlined with Lopez. Their performance won a Primetime Emmy but also received some criticism for being allegedly overly provocative for family viewing (via KUTV)

The FIFA World Cup final took place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 to lift the men’s trophy for the second time in its history.
