A brand-new action RPG in a major series has been announced, and could be a PlayStation 6 title depending on some factors.
A brand-new Fallout from Obsidian is in development
In a recent studio letter posted to social media, Bethesda outlined its future of development. In the midst of new Fallout 76 updates, the announcement of a Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas remasters, Bethesda confirmed that a brand new Fallout was in development. Even more surprisingly, the game will be developed by Obsidian Entertainment.
“The wasteland continues to expand as we team up once again with our longtime friends at Obsidian Entertainment. We’re happy to confirm they’re working with us on a new Fallout project. We’ll have more to share in the future,” reads Bethesda’s statement on the new project.
Obsidian Entertainment, for those unaware, were the developers of the hugely successful Fallout: New Vegas. The release of New Vegas catapulted Obsidian into the status of one of the premier developers in the world of video games. Since then, the company has developed titles like the Pillars of Eternity series, The Outer Worlds, Grounded, and Avowed, another RPG series.
Currently, no real information on the new Fallout entry was revealed by Bethesda. Given their track record of releases, though, many have wondered if this could be a title that comes out on the PlayStation 6, whenever that console is ready to release.
