Disclosure Day Rotten Tomatoes Prediction Is Out of This World

The upcoming sci-fi drama Disclosure Day, directed by Steven Spielberg, has received a stellar Rotten Tomatoes prediction ahead of its nationwide release on June 12. That’s great news for this original IP from the legendary filmmaker as it faces off against a slew of blockbusters in June that include nostalgic reboots, superhero movies, and animated sequels. With a screenplay written by Jurassic World Rebirth’s David Koepp, based on a story from Spielberg himself, the UFO film follows meteorologist Margaret Fairchild (Emily Blunt) and whistleblower Daniel Kellner (Josh O’Connor) who attempt to expose the truth about aliens while being chased by the Wardex corporation led by Noah Scanlon (Colin Firth).

Disclosure Day is predicted to earn a Certified Fresh Rotten Tomatoes rating

Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day is expected to get a high 90% critics rating from Rotten Tomatoes, based on a bet on Kalshi (as of June 4, 2026). A film needs to score a 75% or higher on the site to gain “Certified Fresh” status, something that the movie is predicted to achieve easily. The full results for the bet can be found below:

  • Above 30 (Rotten Tomatoes rating) – 99%
  • Above 35 – 99%
  • Above 40 – 99%
  • Above 45 – 99%
  • Above 50 – 99%
  • Above 55 – 98%
  • Above 60 – 97%
  • Above 70 – 97%
  • Above 75 – 93%
  • Above 80 – 87%
  • Above 85 – 77%
  • Above 90 – 48%
  • Above 95 – 25%

Within the first week of the bet, which started on May 12, the RT rating for Disclosure Day was slightly lower, swinging from a low of 80% to a high of 88%. Over the last week, though, this has risen significantly to a range from 87% to 93%.

That said, these predictions should be taken with a grain of salt as they can swing wildly as we approach the film’s theatrical debut on June 12. On that end, the review embargo for Disclosure Day is June 9 at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET, according to World of Reel, so the Rotten Tomatoes score for the movie will be much clearer a few days before its release.

Even without the hype and the trailers surrounding Disclosure Day, it’s difficult to bet against Steven Spielberg when it comes to high review scores for his films. While his last two movies haven’t been box office smashes, they have been received incredibly well by critics. 2022’s The Fabelmans has 92% critics rating and a 83% audience rating on the site, while 2021’s West Side Story stands at a 91% critics rating and a 93% audience rating. The two blips for the filmmaker over the last decade have been 2016’s The BFG (74% critics rating) and 2018’s Ready Player One (71% critics rating), though both still received “Certified Fresh” status.

Initial critic reactions to the film have been largely positive. Many have hailed the performances from Emily Blunt and Josh O’Connor and praised the extraterrestrial movie for its strong story that goes in unexpected directions. Critic Tessa Smith wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Disclosure Day is absolutely phenomenal! Truly something special. I was hanging onto every word, captivated by the story as it all played out. The score perfectly elevates every single scene. Part mystery, part Twilight Zone [sic], something new entirely. I shed a tear at the end. WOW.”

If Disclosure Day is able to maintain these high review scores, it will provide much-needed word of mouth as it comes out amid a stacked calendar in June that includes Toy Story 5, Supergirl, Masters of the Universe, and Scary Movie. Fortunately, the movie’s reported budget is only $115 million, which is on the lower end for a blockbuster these days, so it should have an easier time becoming a box office success.

Trailers for the film see Margaret Fairchild make alien voices with a disturbing amount of throaty clicks during her weather forecast. Blunt revealed that it would have been easy for the production to use AI to create the unnerving language, but the production instead decided to put microphones near her mouth and throat to create the noises.
