Hollywood is mourning the death of Diane Keaton, who passed away in California at 79. Known for her Oscar-winning role in Annie Hall and performances in The Godfather trilogy, Father of the Bride, and The First Wives Club, Keaton’s death prompted tributes from co-stars, directors, and peers. Robert De Niro told The Hollywood Reporter: “I am very sad to hear of Diane’s passing. I was very fond of her… She will be missed. May she rest in peace.”

Francis Ford Coppola shared on Instagram, “Words can’t express the wonder and talent of Diane Keaton. Endlessly intelligent, so beautiful… Everything about Diane was creativity personified.” He recalled casting her as Kay in The Godfather, noting she based the character on his wife, Ellie.

Steve Martin posted a screenshot from a 2021 Interview magazine exchange with Keaton, writing, “Don’t know who first posted this, but it sums up our delightful relationship with Diane.”

Michael Douglas remembered his And So It Goes co-star, writing, “RIP to my friend Diane Keaton… a heartbreaking loss of one of the greatest icons in our industry.”
