Daisy Ridley on Possibly Making a Star Wars Movie Without Her Co-Stars

Star Wars sequel trilogy star Daisy Ridley has spoken further about the upcoming Rey Skywalker movie and potentially making it without her co-stars.

In an interview with Variety, Ridley compared the experience of making the Star Wars sequels and how she feels going into the next movie in the series. When asked about if it will be strange to make a Star Wars movie without co-stars like John Boyega, Adam Driver, and Oscar Isaac, the actress responded that she doesn’t know “what is what or who is who” in regards to the film.

“No, because I don’t know what is what or who is who [in the new movie],” Ridley explained. “So much has happened for me [since the Skywalker saga]. I feel like a grown-up now. When I first started, I was, like, 20. I was the youngest on set. It took me the first two Star Wars films to feel worthy of being there. Now I’m in my 30s. The whole thing feels quite different. I’ve been able to work with other filmmakers, and hopefully, I’ve got better as a performer.”

Who is directing the Rey Skywalker movie?

The Rey-focused movie is being directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (Ms. Marvel) and written by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight. It will star Daisy Ridley as Rey Skywalker, who last appeared in Star Wars: The Rise of the Skywalker, which she described as her favorite filming experience.

As of now, the last Star Wars film released in theaters was also 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker. The film grossed over $1 billion at the worldwide box office, but the final installment in the sequel trilogy was the lowest-growing and received mixed reviews from fans and critics.
