RIP Actor Dennis Farina, 1944-2013

There’s some tragic news coming in this morning as TMZ reports that actor Dennis Farina has passed away in Scottsdale, Arizona at age 69 due to a blood clot in his lung.

Farina, a Chicago native, is well-known for a wide range of both film and television credits including, on the small screen, programs like “Law & Order,” “Crime Story,” and, quite recently, “Luck.” On the big screen, Farina’s credits span more than three decades and include memorable roles in films like Snatch, Get Shorty and Saving Private Ryan.

Prior to his life in Hollywood, Farina spent three years serving in the armed forces and 18 years as a Chicago police officer. He is survived by three children and six grandchildren.

ComingSoon.net last spoke with Farina in 2011 for Joe Maggio’s The Last Rites of Joe May and, as you can see in the video interview below, he will be missed both for his immense talent on screen as well as for his grace and kindness as a human being.
