Freddy Krueger Returns to Terrorize The Goldbergs

The sixth season of ABC‘s The Goldbergs will feature an amazing guest appearance from none other than horror icon Robert Englund, who will don the Freddy Krueger mantle once more in the show’s Halloween episode in October. Check out the teaser released on the show’s official Twitter page below that features Englund in full-on Freddy gear — a fair warning: the nostalgia is strong with this one.

Per ABC News, the episode fittingly titled “Nightmare on Elk Avenue” centers on the fears of the show’s teenage protagonist, Adam, after seeing A Nightmare on Elm Street when it premiered way back in 1984. Enter Englund, who will reprise his iconic role for what he calls “a spooky valentine to the fans.”

The actor has portrayed Freddy Krueger at least 45 times, according to Google, in various film and TV outlets, including the long-running Nightmare on Elm Street series that culminated with 2003’s Freddy vs. Jason.

The Goldbergs has made a habit out of featuring guest appearances from 80’s stars. In May the show brought in Rick Moranis, who reprised his role as Dark Helmet from Spaceballs, and will likewise feature Rick Springfield in this season’s third episode.
