Charlie Cox Reveals The Defenders Will Begin Production This Year!

Charlie Cox reveals The Defenders will begin production this year

March was a big month for the street level heroes of New York, with the second season premiere of Marvel’s Daredevil and the announcement that Marvel’s Luke Cage would be premiering in September. The year has only just begun though, as production on Marvel’s Iron Fist is set to start soon, but according to The Man Without Fear, the big culminating event of The Defenders is already on the calendar as well.

“What we do know is at the end of this year we’re going to be making The Defenders and, of course, Daredevil is very much a part of that foursome,” Charlie Cox said at a Netflix event in Paris (via Independent/Comic Book). “I have no idea what the storyline is going to be for that show. I’m very excited to see how those world’s combine… and interested to see tonally how those shows become one.”

What about those leftover plot threads at the end of the season? Cox also confirmed he still doesn’t know about a third season of Daredevil, and he’s not sure if any unanswered questions will be answered in The Defenders.

“In terms of wrapping up any storylines, maybe they’ll do some of that in The Defenders. Or maybe they won’t.”

Marvel’s Defenders will be made up of Charlie Cox as Daredevil, Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, and Finn Jones as Iron Fist. It’s unclear who will be the showrunner for the series or when it will premiere. What do you want to see in Defenders? Sound off below!
