Plot Summary: Based on the remarkable true story, "Secretariat" chronicles the spectacular journey of the 1973 Triple Crown winner. Housewife and mother Penny Chenery (Diane Lane) agrees to take over her ailing father's Virginia-based Meadow Stables, despite her lack of horse-racing knowledge. Against all odds, Chenery--with the help of veteran trainer Lucien Laurin (John Malkovich)--manages to navigate the male-dominated business, ultimately fostering the first Triple Crown winner in 25 years and what may be the greatest racehorse of all time.

Destined to be shown back-to-back with "Seabiscuit" one day on cable television...

If they put Seabiscuit back to back with Secretariat, even on cable tv, they better give Seabiscuit a big head start, because Secretariat, being the Locomotive that he is, will build up a head ot steam and roar past him EVERY TIME :)

They better do this right. This needs a GREAT
musical score. Big Red deserves it. Something
along the lines of Rudy, or The Natural.
Have heard they want Julia Roberts or Jodi
Foster to Play Penny. I think Joan Allen would be perfect...Annette Bening? Glenn
Close actually kinda looks like her.
The Natural II ? :)

glen close or jody foster. Lane may be ok, but close or foster, in particular foster, would have been interesting...all the other actors are great picks. A great musical score is a requirement. If this film is done right and if it has a good screen play, it should return big.

I've read the script... it's gonna be the same melodramatic, cliched POS that all Randall Wallace movies are... except BRAVEHEART (Thank God for Mel Gibson's input on that one)!!
