Plot Summary: "Star Wars" takes on a dazzling new look in the first-ever animated feature from Lucasfilm Animation - "Star Wars: The Clone Wars." As the Clone Wars sweep through the galaxy, the heroic Jedi Knights struggle to maintain order and restore peace. More and more systems are falling prey to the forces of the dark side as the Galactic Republic slips further and further under the sway of the Separatists and their never-ending droid army. Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan learner Ahsoka Tano find themselves on a mission with far-reaching consequences, one that brings them face-to-face with crime lord Jabba the Hutt. But Count Dooku and his sinister agents, including the nefarious Asajj Ventress, will stop at nothing to ensure that Anakin and Ahsoka fail at their quest. Meanwhile, on the front lines of the Clone Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Master Yoda lead the massive clone army in a valiant effort to resist the forces of the dark side.

I'm very surprised that George Lucas did not use Apple QuickTime for his Clone Wars trailers and clips on his web site.

I know in the past, George Lucas always cared a lot about using a media streaming format that presented his movie trailers in the best possible quality but presenting his trailers for "The Clone Wars" in Flash Player format is poorer quality than Quicktime, Windows Media Player, or Real Player.

I'm running Mac OS 10.4.11 on PowerPC Macs, one with a 1.67 GHz processor and another with dual 1.25 GHz processors and both machines equipped with hi-end ATI Radeon graphics cards. With all that and the latest update to Adobe Flash Player, "The Clone Wars" trailers are just too slow and choppy.

I went to my local Apple store and tried to view these same Flash based trailers on a brand now Macbook with Intel's Core 2 Duo processor and it was still choppy. I suppose these Star Wars Flash based trailers run fine on a recent Windows XP machine, otherwise Lucas Film LTD would have no good reason to use this format.

I would like to see Lucas Film present these Trailers in Quicktime format so that all platforms can view them in the highest possible quality.

I am such a dork. I have been fiending for something new in the world of Star Wars since Revenge of the Sith came out in '05. I am so used to having a new movie out every 3 years that I am having trouble coping without a new chapter to the saga coming out. I guess I will have to rely on this animated saga. Some people say that the acting was bad in the prequels, but I just think it was because George Lucas wanted everything to be formal including the dialogue. Come on, Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portan are both very good young actors.

The acting in Revenge of the Sith was pretty poor IMO, mainly from Christensen and Portman. Also Samuel L. Jackson was rather wooden as Windu in all three prequel films. Are Christensen, Portman, McGregor etc. doing the voices for their respective characters?

I'm very excited for this, I just wish that it wasn't coming out in the middle of August. Not much they can do about it now.
