The original movie follows Cooper’s Morra, a smart but unmotivated author who turns his life around when he begins taking a drug called NZT, designed to enhance the limits of the human brain. Although the drug is incredibly beneficial at first, Morra quickly finds himself in over his head.

Robert De Niro, Abbie Cornish, Anna Friel and Tomas Arana co-starred in the original, which earned more than $161 million worldwide and cost just $27 million to make.

The “Limitless” series, from CBS Television Studios i.a.w., K/O Paper Products and Relativity Media, follows Brian Finch as he discovers the power of the mysterious drug NZT, and is coerced into using his newfound drug-enhanced abilities to solve weekly cases for the FBI.

Jake McDorman, Jennifer Carpenter, Hill Harper and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio star in the series, which will debut this fall on CBS.

Marc Webb directs the pilot from a script by Craig Sweeny. Both executive produce alongside Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Heather Kadin, Bradley Cooper, Todd Phillips, Ryan Kavanaugh, Tucker Tooley and Tom Forman.
