Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 2 Trailer Reveals Return of Paramount+ Show

The trailer for Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 2 confirms that the popular crime drama series is returning to Paramount+, highlighting a new dangerous case for the BAU team to solve.

The ten-episode second installment will premiere on Thursday, June 6, exclusively on Paramount+, with two new episodes. From there, subsequent new episodes will be released on Thursdays.

What to expect from Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 2

The new season picks up with the elite group of profilers investigating the deadly mystery of what’s known as Gold Star. With a conspiracy unfolding, the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) faces an unexpected complication when serial killer Elias Voit negotiates a deal that gets him into federal custody in the BAU’s own backyard. Per the official synopsis, “the team faces its biggest threat yet and cannot emerge unscathed from the mind-bending consequences.“

The cast of Criminal Minds includes Joe Mantegna, A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler, Zach Gilford, Ryan-James Hatanaka with Adam Rodriguez and Paget Brewster. Desperate Housewives actress Felicity Huffman has been previously announced to guest star. She’ll play Dr. Jill Gideon, a biological psychiatrist who was the ex-wife of the late Jason Gideon. Played by Mandy Patinkin, Jason Gideon appeared in the first three seasons of the original Criminal Minds.

The series is produced by ABC Signature and CBS Studios. Erica Messer (Criminal Minds, Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders) serves as showrunner and executive producer, with Breen Frazier, Chris Barbour, Glenn Kershaw and Mark Gordon also executive producing.

The Paramount+ original series, Criminal Minds: Evolution, debuted in 2022. It’s currently available to stream on the service. All 15 seasons of the original Criminal Minds series, which ran from 2005-2020 on CBS, are also available on Paramount+.
