Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai Now Available on Digital

To mark its digital release, Warner Bros. has revealed a brand new Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai trailer, highlighting the magical origins of the adorable Gizmo.

The first ten episodes of the animated prequel is now available to rent or buy on digital platforms such as Apple TV, Prime Video, Vudu, and more. This comes over three months since it debuted its Season 1 finale on Max. Even before it made its series premiere, Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai has already received an early Season 2 renewal. However, as of now, there have been no updates regarding production.

What is Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai?

“The series travels back to 1920s China to reveal the story of how 10-year-old Sam Wing – future shop owner Mr. Wing in the 1984 movie – met the adorable Mogwai Gizmo,” reads the synopsis. “Along with a teenage street thief named Elle, Sam and Gizmo take a perilous journey through China, encountering and battling colorful monsters and spirits from Chinese folklore. But in order to return Gizmo to the Mogwai ancestral homeland and uncover a legendary treasure, they must evade a power-hungry industrialist and his growing army of evil Gremlins.”

Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai features the voices of Izaac Wang as Sam Wing, Ming-Na Wen as Fong Wing & Yin, B.D. Wong as Hon Wing, James Hong as Grandpa Wing, Matthew Rhys as Riley Greene, A.J. LoCascio as Gizmo, Haviland Morris as Theodora, Calvin Shen as Radish, and Gabrielle Nevaeh Green as Elle. It also includes guest star such as Sandra Oh, Randall Park, Bowen Yang, Ramona Young, and original Gremlins star Zach Galligan.

The series is written and executive produced by Tze Chun (Children of Invention, Gotham). Executive producers are Steven Spielberg, Darryl Frank, Justin Falvey, Sam Register, and Brendan Hay, with Dan Krall serving as supervising producer. It is produced by Amblin in association with Warner Bros. Animation.
