In the previous episode of BoJack Horseman, Diane finalized her divorce with Mr. Peanutbutter, had an emotional breakdown after seeing Mr. Peanutbutter getting involved with a new woman, and took a soul-searching trip to Vietnam. Inspections
BoJack and Gina were having dinner at BoJack’s restaurant and they discussed the possibility of them dating. Gina declined to get involved with BoJack. Yolanda was at the restaurant as well, administering the annual health check. The restaurant failed the health inspection. Later that day, Yolanda took Todd to dinner with her parents. Yolanda revealed that she had not come out to her parents yet. She convinced Todd that they needed to pretend that they are sexually active.
Mr. Peanutbutter picked up Pickles and took her to the desert to observe the upcoming space station explosion. Pickles and Mr. Peanutbutter got into the limo, that Peanutbutter had reserved and drove to the desert, but Pickles demanded that this not be counted as a date.
Dinner Date?
At dinner, Yolanda introduced Todd as a successful media executive, which impressed her parents. Yolanda’s entire family was involved in the sex industry and were very happy that Yolanda had finally found a sexual partner. Her parents insisted that the two of them stay the night and Yolanda agreed. On set, BoJack learned of Gina’s love for musical theater and he continually mocked her.
Mr. Peanutbutter and Pickles stopped at a French restaurant on the way to the desert. That night, Yolanda’s mother and sister both attempted to seduce Todd, but Todd refused. Yolanda’s mother quickly deduced that Todd must not be into sex at all. Yolanda hatched a plan to maintain her cover and Todd quickly got on board with the idea.
A Prized Possession
BoJack convinced Flip to let Gina have a musical number in the upcoming episode of their show. Yolanda’s mother came and began to convince Todd to engage in sexual intercourse with her. Next, Yolanda’s sister, Mandy, attempted to convince Todd of the same thing. Todd refused to become involved with either of them and managed to confuse Yolanda’s mother. Her father then arrived and attempted to gift the couple with a barrel of very expensive lubricant. Through a series of errors, the barrel broke open and lubricant began to coat the floor.
Todd was forced to plug the barrel in a inventive way, but he failed and the barrel broke apart. Meanwhile, on set, Gina belted out a song from one of her favorite musicals. After her performance, Flip canceled the musical segment of the show. Back at Yolanda’s family home, she finally admitted to her parents that she is asexual. During the car ride back, Yolanda and Todd bonded over their shared uncomfortable experience with her parents. Todd and Yolanda decided to break up as they didn’t have anything in common, other than their asexuality.
