Jemaine Clement’s Hilarious New Hulu TV Show Streams Today

One of Hulu‘s newest comedy TV shows has finally debuted today, featuring Emmy nominee Jemaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords). As of today, all six episodes of Alice and Steve are officially available to stream on Hulu.

What do we know about Hulu’s Alice and Steve show?

The Alice and Steve series features a controversial premise about a middle-aged woman whose life suddenly changes when her long-time male best friend starts dating her daughter. Described as an anti-romcom story, the new show also stars Nicola Walker, Joel Fry, Yali Topol Margalith, Tyrese Eaton-Dyce, Marcia Warren, Eilidh Fisher, and Ebony Aboagye.

The comedy series is created and written by Sex Education’s Sophie Goodhart, with Tom Kingsley directing. It is executive-produced by Andy Baker and Wim De Greef for Clerkenwell Films, while Fran du Pille serves as a producer. Before its streaming debut, the show had its U.S. premiere at the recent Tribeca Festival.

“Alice is devastated when her best friend Steve starts dating her 26-year-old daughter, Izzy. She’s going to lose her best friend and her daughter in one fell swoop. Alice tries everything she can to end the relationship. Unfortunately for her, Steve’s more than ready for the attack, and what begins as a perfect friendship devolves into an all-out feud,” reads the official synopsis.

A hilarious, messy, and complicated exploration of friendship, love, and revenge, Alice and Steve is an anti-romantic comedy that asks the question, how far would you go for love – or revenge? Will Alice forgive Steve? Will Steve and Izzy make a relationship work? Amongst all the questions hanging in the balance, one thing is certain: their lives will never be the same again.”
