Long Bright River: Nicholas Pinnock Joins Amanda Seyfried in Peacock Miniseries

According to Deadline, For Life star Nicholas Pinnock has been tapped for the leading role opposite Oscar nominee Amanda Seyfried in Peacock’s upcoming limited drama adaptation of Long Bright River, based on Liz Moore’s bestselling novel.

Pinnock will be playing the character of Truman Dawes. The British actor was recently seen starring in a key role in the biblical dramedy film The Book of Clarence. Besides Long Bright River, Pinnock is also currently part of the upcoming This Town series, which hails from Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight.

What is Long Bright River about?

“The miniseries tells the story of Mickey (Seyfried), a police officer who patrols a Philadelphia neighborhood hard-hit by the opioid crisis. When a series of murders begins in the neighborhood, Mickey realizes that her personal history might be related to the case,” reads the logline.

Long Bright River will be written and produced by Moore and Nikki Toscano, with the latter also serving as the showrunner. The series will be executive produced by Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Amanda Lewis, Amy Pascal, and Russell Rothberg with Hagar Ben-Asher directing the first episode. It is a production by Sony Pictures Television and UCP.
