Jeremy Renner on Filming Mayor Of Kingstown Season 3 After Accident: ‘I Think I’m Ready’

One year after a snowplow accident left him in critical condition, Jeremy Renner says he is ready to work on Mayor of Kingstown Season 3. On CNN’s New Year’s Eve special on Sunday night, Renner spoke with hosts Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen about his feelings toward returning to the set.

“I think I’m ready, I think I’m strong enough,” Renner said. “We’ll see…. I literally go back in a week. But I’ll be doing my best, trying my hardest.”

Last week, Renner reposted a story from his co-star Emma Laird’s Instagram Story featuring a picture of their characters with the caption, “Back with my favourite guy next week.”

What to Expect in Mayor of Kingstown Season 3?

“Kingstown, Michigan, is a fictional company town where the business is incarceration,” the series synopsis reads. “The McLusky family have been keeping the peace in Kingstown for decades, acting as the mediators between the street gangs, prisoners, guards, and cops. Tackling themes of systemic racism, corruption, and inequality, the series provides a stark look at their attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither.”

Renner stars as Mike McLusky, who becomes the “Mayor” after the death of his brother Mitch (Kyle Chandler). The series also stars Hugh Dillon as Ian, Tobi Bamtefa as Bunny, Taylor Handley as Kyle McLusky, Laird as Iris, Derek Webster as Stevie, Hamish Allan-Headley as Robert Sawyer, Aidan Gillen as Milo Sunter, and Nishi Munshi as Tracy. Dianne Wiest will not be returning as Mariam McLusky in Season 3.

Mayor of Kingstown hails from Taylor Sheridan and Dillon, who also executive produce alongside Renner, Antoine Fuqua, David Glasser, Ronald Burkle, Bob Yari, and Michael Friedman.

Seasons 1 and 2 of Mayor of Kingstown can now be streamed on Paramount+.
