Nicolas Coster Passes Away, All My Children Actor was 89

Nicolas Coster, a soap opera mainstay known for his work across many legendary shows, died on Monday at the age of 89.

The news was confirmed by Coster’s daughter, Dinneen Coster, on Facebook. According to Dinneen, Nicolas passed away in a hospital in Florida. In the post, Dinneen asked those to remember him as “a great artist,” calling him “an actor’s actor.”

“Please remember him as a great artist,” she wrote. “He was an actor’s actor! I will always be inspired by him and know how lucky I am to have such a great father!!”

Coster is most known for his work on a variety of daytime dramas, and was also known as a character actor for his many roles in series like Wonder Woman, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, T.J. Hooker, and Star Trek: The Next Generation. Coster also often appeared on Broadway, having starred alongside Elizabeth Taylor in Lillian Hellman’s The Little Foxes as well as appearing in productions of All The President’s Men, MacArthur, Reds, and Stir Crazy.

In the 1960s, Coster began starring in a variety of daytime soap operas, and appeared in hit programs like One Life to Live, Young Doctor Malone, The Secret Storm, As the World Turns, All My Children, and more. In 2010, the actor was named by We Love Soaps as one of the 50 greatest soap actors of all time.
