With Seacrest no longer working on “Live with Kelly and Ryan,” TMZ notes that he has time in his schedule to potentially take over should he receive an offer.
The news of Seacrest’s potential involvement comes as Pat Sajak announced that he would be retire from the show. This will come after his work on the upcoming 41st season of Wheel of Fortune — set to begin in September.
In a tweet this past week, Sajak said that it had been “a wonderful ride,” and that he’d have more to say soon. Sajak was originally hired to host the show in 1981, and has become a legend in the world of television for his hosting duties.
Seacrest himself is no stranger to game shows, as the original host of American Idol. He also hosted daytime talk show Live with Kelly and Ryan, where he appeared alongside Kelly Ripa for six years.
