Gotham Set to Introduce Scarecrow in Future Episode

In case you thought there weren’t enough future Batman villains on FOX’s new series “Gotham,” Zap2it reports that executive producer Danny Cannon revealed that the show’s writers are currently writing an episode that introduces a young Jonathan Crane, aka The Scarecrow.

“We’re breaking the story now,” Cannon said at Stan Lee’s Comikaze Expo 2014.

Cannon went on to reveal the episode will feature Crane as a young boy and that in the context of the series, he will inherit the “Scarecrow” mantle from his father, who will be an adversary for Jim Gordon. What other Batman villains do you want to see on “Gotham”? Let us know in the comments.

Created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, Scarecrow first appeared in World’s Finest #3 back in 1941 and has gone on to become one of Batman’s more popular villains with notable appearances in “Batman: The Animated Series,” Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight” trilogy where he was portrayed by Cillian Murphy, and the fan favorite “Arkham” video games.

“Gotham” airs on Mondays at 8 p.m.
