Amazon Studios gave the Butch and Sundance TV remake a straight-to-series order after winning the rights from a bidding war against Disney+ and Peacock. Page is set to portray Butch Cassidy, with Powell playing the Sundance Kid. Both actors will also be serving as executive producers and are expected to be involved in the show’s creative decisions.

The series will be written by Cousins Kaz and Ryan Firpo. Further details about its plot are still being kept under wraps, but it is reportedly set to take place in an alternate reality similar to the one in the Prime Video series Man in the High Castle.
