The Devil Wears Prada 2’s digital release date is extremely close

The Devil Wears Prada 2, featuring Emily Blunt in a key role, will be released on digital storefronts on June 30, 2026. Fans will be able to purchase or rent the film through Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home.

It originally premiered at Lincoln Center in New York City on April 20, before enjoying a wider theatrical release on May 1. Following its release, the film grossed roughly $678-$682 million at the box office against its sizable $100 million budget (via The Numbers). Accordingly, it outperformed its predecessor, which concluded its theatrical run in 2006 with approximately $327 million (around $540 million when adjusted for inflation).

Moreover, The Devil Wears Prada 2 has garnered a positive critical reception, with praise directed towards Meryl Streep’s reprisal of her iconic character, Miranda Priestly. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film has a 77% “certified fresh” critical approval rating and an 84% audience score. These are better than the scores of its predecessor, which shows 75% “certified fresh” critical and 76% audience ratings.

Meanwhile, Metacritic has given it a “generally favorable” Metascore of 63 but a “mixed or average” user score of 6.0. Furthermore, CinemaScore has graded it A-. This is above Emily Blunt’s recent release, Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day, which has a B rating.

Taking place 20 years after the original film, the story sees Andrea “Andy” Sachs rejoin Runway as a features editor. Soon, she helps editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly navigate the evolving digital media landscape and the slow decline of traditional magazine publishing.

David Frankel and Aline Brosh McKenna reprised their directing and writing duties from the previous movie. In addition to Blunt and Streep, Anne Hathaway, Stanley Tucci, and Tibor Feldman returned from the original. New additions to the cast include Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, B.J. Novak, Simone Ashley, and Kenneth Branagh, among others.
