If you put a quarter in a Zoltar machine last night and wished that Big, director Penny Marshall’s 1988 comedy starring Tom Hanks, would become a TV series, we’ve got just the update for you! TheWrap reports that 20th Century Fox Television has plans to turn Big into an “event Series” with the “Enlisted” pair of Kevin Biegel and Mike Royce writing and executive producing.
According to the outlet, the series will “explore what it means to be an adult and what it means to be a kid, and how in today’s world those two things are more confused than ever.”
Nominated for two Academy Awards, Big also stars Elizabeth Perkins, Robert Loggia and John Heard. It was scripted by Gary Ross (The Hunger Games and Anne Spielberg. It has previously been adapted into other medias as both a single-issue comic book and, in 1996, a Broadway musical.
