In a statement made on his Twitter account, AEW owner and CEO Tony Khan confirmed the news, saying that Hardy was suspended without pay, and would only be eligible to return to the company once he successfully completes any treatment and maintains his sobriety.

Khan also said that they had been in contact with Hardy, and made it clear that the company does not condone his behavior. They did, however, note that they will assist Hardy in receiving treatment for substance abuse issues, and said that Hardy has indicated he would be open to receiving them.

Hardy was arrested earlier this week in Florida and booked with several charges, including driving with a suspended, canceled, or revoked license, a violation of restrictions placed on a driver’s license, and his third DUI within 10 years. Currently, Hardy is out of custody after posting a $3,500 bond, and a court hearing that was supposed to be held on Tuesday was canceled due to unknown reasons.
