The Flash Gets Another Rogue for Its Gallery with Greg Finley as Girder!

Zap2It is reporting that “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” and “Star-Crossed” star Greg Finley has joined the cast of The CW’s “The Flash” in the role of Tony Woodward, AKA Girder. The site reports that Finley will appear in episodes 6 and 7 of the upcoming freshman series and that he will gain his abilities, transforming his skin into “living metal,” in the S.T.A.R. Labs explosion previously seen on “Arrow.”

Co-created by “The Flash” executive producer Goeff Johns, Girder first appeared in the DCU back in 2001 and continued to be a pain for both Wally West and Barry Allen as the scarlet speedster over the years. The character also joined up with the assembly of Flash villains The Rogues at one point in the source material. With Captain Cold and the Weather Wizard already confirmed to appear, might we be seeing that group show up on the series?

“The Flash” arrives from co-creators Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg, who, along with Geoff Johns, wrote the pilot episode which was helmed by “Arrow” pilot director David Nutter. Grant Gustin will star as the titular hero along with Candice Patton as Iris West, Jesse L. Martin as Iris’s father, Detective West, Michelle Harrison as Barry’s mother Nora Allen and many others, including John Wesley Shipp, from the original “The Flash” TV series as Barry’s father.

“The Flash” premieres October 7 on The CW.
