The Cast for MTV’s Scream TV Series Revealed, Jamie Travis to Direct Pilot

, MTV officially gave the greenlight to a pilot for “Scream,” based on the popular franchise from Kevin Williamson and Wes Craven, and now the cast and crew for the film are officially set.

Willa Fitzgerald (“Royal Pains”) will lead the adaptation as Emma Duvall, a classic beauty whose looks and popularity hide a natural shyness and intellectual nature. She is joined by Amy Forsyth (“Reign”) as Audrey Jensen, the daughter of a Lutheran pastor who aspires to be a filmmaker; John Karna (“The Neighbors”) as Noah Foster, a creative computer genius with a vast knowledge of pop culture and the tech world and best friends with Audrey; Carlson Young (“The Kroll Show”) as Brooke Maddox, the charismatic leader of the popular crew whose personality vacillates between bubbly sweetness and ferocious sex appeal; and newcomer Amadeus Serafini as Kieran Wilcox, the mysterious new kid in town with a dark side and a tough exterior that hint at experience beyond his years.

Jamie Travis (For a Good Time, Call…, “Faking It”) will direct the pilot which was penned by Jay Beattie and Dan Dworkin (“Criminal Minds,” “Revenge”). Jill Blotevogel (“Harper’s Island,” “Ravenswood”) will serve as showrunner for the series.

Jill Blotevogel (“Harper’s Island,” “Ravenswood”) is the executive producer and will showrun. Jay Beattie and Dan Dworkin (“Criminal Minds,” “The Event,” and “Revenge”) wrote the original script. Under the Dimension TV production umbrella, Harvey and Bob Weinstein will executive produce. Additional Executive Producers are Wes Craven, Marianne Maddalena and Cathy Konrad.
