Luke Evans (Immortals, The Hobbit films, Beauty and the Beast) has been tapped in a lead role for Apple’s upcoming action series Echo 3, according to Variety. The 10-episode series comes from Oscar winner Mark Boal (The Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty) who will serve as executive producer and co-showrunner along with Jason Horwitch.

Evans most recently starred in The Alienist: Angel of Darkness, The Pembrokeshire Murders, and Crisis. His upcoming projects include the miniseries adaptation Nine Perfect Strangers, Robert Zemeckis’ live-action Pinocchio for Disney, and the drama Bear Season.

When she goes missing along the Colombia-Venezuela border, her brother, Bambi (Evans), and her husband — two men with deep military experience and complicated pasts — struggle to find her in a drama set against the explosive backdrop of a secret war.

The project is produced by Apple and Keshet Studios.
